Well here's the reality msfitz! This probably never would have been reported except for the fact of her death! Had she not died eventually and simply been tortured and lived through all of it, we never would have heard about it! Just my opinion.

I think your opinion is dead-on, and that's really scary and too, too sad.

I don't think she would have dared speak of it to anyone if she had lived. So many victims are brainwashed into believing that it was brought on by some fault of their own, and/or are too ashamed to report it to the authorities or to anyone at all.

Not to mention but with Sylvia Likens, I believe her parents died while on the road and that's why they never came back to get her. She wasn't even aware of that little fact unless I'm getting it wrong because like I said, this was such a hard read that maybe I'm blocking it out. So had she lived, it's not like she had parents she could tell this story to so really, who would she tell and who would have even believed her except possibly her parents!?

As it stood, even with her death and the subsequent trial, people did not really believe the atrocities that occured in that home not to mention that they were perpetrated by children so young! This was unheard of during that time.

Besides Rob Zombie's Halloween, are there any good horror movies coming out before the end of the year?

Or are there any out now?

Because I'd like to know because I'mgoing in town tomorrow and I need to know which horror movie to get. I haven't bought a horror movie in a while and am craving for one.

So please give me some advice.

A quick peek at my release schedule for the rest of the year turns up:

The Evil Dead - Ultimate Edition (12/18)
RZ's Halloween (12/18)
Hatchet (12/18)
Resident Evil: Extinction (1/1)

There are other horror releases, but those are the mainstream ones. I am looking forward to The Evil Dead release as well as the kick ass Blade Runner release on the 18th.

Hatchet is supposed to be pretty good. Nothing new to the genre but apparently capable and has all the requisite gore and some comedy, just nothing to special! Murder Party is definitely worth a purchase if you can find it. I loooooooooved Murder Party!!

Spending 20 more bucks on the same movie is not something i'll ever do. If they would include all of this on one set, and stop milking their fanbase dry, then I might buy it.

I will be picking up The Evil Dead for sure, as I don't have the first one on DVD yet, and I will also pick up Hatchet. The Crypt of Terror box set looks interesting, something I may have to keep an eye out for.
