I could only find a thread on 80's dracula films, so this thread is to discuss your favorite vampire flicks, dracula or not. For the vampire lovers, and discuss which are your favorites and why.
There's very few that I dont like, but Dracula 2000 I cannot get into. It starts off slow, and is just plain boring. the characters didnt interest me.
My fav is Bram Stokers dracula, because the storyline, sets, cast, were done beautifully. And there was the perfect tiny amount of humor injected into it. It quickly covered the history in the beginning very well, I thought. Any favorite scenes?

It would be a toss up between Nosferatu (1922), Bram Stokers Dracula, Underworld 1&2, Van Helsing (just fun), and Rocky Horror (even more fun)

Your daughter has a point Jaded. Its a long flick. But looking on the bright side, at least its worth the sit. I mean, I've watched worse long flicks.

I love both Murnau's and Herzog's versions of Nosferatu.
George Romero's Martin is also an amazing movie that linked Teenage angst and sexual confusion to vampirism.
I like a wide array of vamp films, like the original Dracula, Hammer vampire movies, Nick Cage's Vampires Kiss, etc.. What I don't like is many of the modern vampire movies that are more action and goth than anything.

Yeah it is a bit long for a kid to sit through, but I agree I think it is worth the sit.

I liked it but it's not so much what I call a "Vampire" movie. It's more of a search and destroy mission

movie.
I don't know how else to put it, I think of a typical Vampire movie being a kind of love/hate on both sides.

I dig what you are saying. In the old vampire movies people were ignorant, Of vampires, and didn't seek out to destroy them as in the modern day movie. Where the church did a search and destroy undercover mission. I hear ya. But were you entertained???

I liked From Dusk until Dawn...as well as a few others mentioned here.

But I didn't see From Dusk...mentioned yet so I thought I would be the first. I also liked The Hunger (1983). It was odd and disturbing, but Bowie rules, and I can watch Catherine Deneuve all day.

Vampires was kick ass. I never really thought Sheryl Lee was all that hot back in Twin Peaks, but boy was she HAWT in this movie! I think the only draw back was Thomas Ian Griffith going a bit over the top in some scenes. But James Woods was just TOO COOL!
As to my favorite Vampire Flicks:
Interview With the Vampire
Near Dark 'Finger Lickin' Good!'
Carmilla
Lost Boys
Blade Trilogy
Fright Night 'Ok Mr. Vincent, You Can Go Kill Your Vampire Now!'
From Dusk Till Dawn
Bram Stoker's Dracula (Coppola)
'So what do you say Padre? Back there when I was kickin your ass...did you get a lil' wood?'

Most of the films devoted to the bloodsucking undead beginning with the 1922 original silent version of Nosferatu, featuring Max Schreck in the role of the title vampire, all the way up to anything current with regard to vampire cinema, and take care to remember that I'm referring to the best entries in vampire cinema with the intention of excluding the worst entrants in this category. It's just a thought that I wished to express. Thanks for your indulgence. MartinKandell September 25, 2008

Ahh vampires my favorite sub genre of horror along side zombies. I guess the undead are just fascinating. But I woul have to say my favorite vampire flicks in no particular order are
Interview with the Vampire(Rice's Vampire Chronicles are one of my fave series of novels)
Lost Boys
Fright Night I and II
From Dusk till Dawn
Salem's Lot
The Vamp
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Oh and also Tales from the Crypt presents Bordello of Blood, yes very cheessy but that much top heavy nudity and Dennis Miller humor was thoroughly entertaining and who can argue against a giant laser cross ray.
Good Day,,

Gotta throw my hat into the ring and lay out my favorite blood suckers:
Fright Night
Lost Boys
Salem's Lot (original)
Bram Stoker's Dracula
From Dusk till Dawn
And even though it's not a movie, Supernatural's episode called 'Dead Man's Blood' was so good. Nothing better than shooting vampire's in the head with a Colt.
