So, is was the April Fool's Day remake direct to dvd then? I love the 80's version so much, but I might have to check out the remake just to see how true it is to the original.

A direct to DVD movie. It was going to be a remake of the original, but I guess it is completely different, and just takes the name of teh original. It does star Ving Rhames, although it is not his character from the Dawn of the Dead remake.

A solid horror week. I preordered The Orphanage from Columbia House and will pick up Cloverfield, as I enjoyed it in the theatre.

Same here, I enjoyed the first one, and still have to watch the second one. Hopefully, the endless string of Asian remakes will slow down with the less than stellar track record they have had of late.

Do yourself a favor and watch Inside the french release. Don't rent it from Blockbuster as it's cut by about ten minutes in various places but netflix or a purchase anywhere else will not have the cuts taken out. It's released by Dimension Extreme and what I would consider one of the French Juggernauts! As in High Tension, Inside, Them, Calvaire, In My Skin and the soon to be released Frontiers. The french frequently get this stuff right and Inside is no exception. Just watch it and prepare to be totally and utterly creeped out with a really good amount of fine gore that is pretty artistic! Watch it!!!

Criterion is releasing a 2 disc special of Vampyr.
