Hey all -

I'm a screenwriter/comic book writer who loves the short format and is looking for some suggestions for best DVDs to rent or buy with well-produced horror shorts. Something modern with a focus on malevolent deeds by man more so than monsters. (Although a good creature short is always cool too.)

I am always looking for fresh material to inspire me for my COLD BLOODED CHILLERS horror comic series. Or for an excuse not to write at all! ;-)

Any book recommendations would be appreciated too. Right now I'm reading MORE TWISTED by Jeffrey Deaver and recommend it. It doesn't have a lot of blood and gore, but it does pack a powerful psychological twisted punch.

The Masters of Horrors series might be right up your alley....hope you enjoy them as much as I have

Stephen King's "Just After Sunset" and another collection of short stories called "The Living Dead" with various writers such as King and Clive Barker.

Just picked up a great horror anthology by New England horror writer Joe Hill called 20th Century Ghosts. Not your classic horror - very out of the box like Ray Bradbury and Steven King on steroids.
