For those of you who aren't familiar with this show, it was a short-lived (13 episode) spin-off to Spenser: For Hire. Avery Brooks reprised his role as Hawk and moved to D.C. to help those who had no one to help them.
If you thought Hawk was a badass on Spenser, wait till you see him take center stage! He makes Shaft look like Pee-Wee Herman!
It's being shown on the TV One network on Friday at 11AM and 12 PM for the next 5 weeks. If you have direct tv, it's channel #241.
This show is so good IMO that I forced myself to learn how to program my VCR. They've already shown the first four episodes so, they might not be showing it again for a while since it's only half a season long. Enjoy!

Seems that my post was erased in error, man it's frustrating trying to make my way thru this place. Anyway, I couldn't agree more with what was said about "A Man Called Hawk", ABC showed their omnimpotent stupidity cancelling this series, as did USA with the modern-day version of "Kojak", played by the vastly talented and underrated Ving Rhames.

Would someone please guide me to the right spot where I can watch some episodes of it that are supposed to be somewhere on SleuthChannel.com? And by the way, I was fortunate to run across someone that had recorded the entire "Hawk" series and now I have it on DVD in my home video collection, since these lames studios have these shows sitting in a vault decaying somewhere and won't release them, well, you know how the commercial slogan goes, you can take life as it comes, or you can grab it by the horns."
