More quality scripted programming to come eh? Sweet! I really loved the first season of this show.

I honestly don't know. I just seen that Uni had created a board here for SFU and was giving them a shout out. I imagine they will post more details soon.

Wow...Great pickup. My wife and I just finished watching the series on DVD two weeks ago. One of my all time favorites, along with Northern Exposure.

My only concern is how heavily it will be edited for content and length. There's a lot of strong language in the show and a lot of naked corpses, but I guess you can work around that. But the show was on HBO, where there are no commercials, so they're going to have to make deep cuts in that 60 mins to make room for 15 mins of ads, or else run episodes as an hour and a half (unlikely). That could hurt a lot.

Also, before people start freaking out, the first two seasons of the show were shot standard. They didn't go to 16:9 until season 3.

Hi, I just came here to find out when the show was starting (one of those shows I always wanted to watch but just havent gotten around to it). Why do you think they would need to edit the episodes and insert commercials though? UHD shows movies without commercials, so Im sure they would/could do the same for SFU, and as far as I can tell, nothing is edited (I know Back to the Future was the original unedited theatrical version). Basically, UHD != A&E.

Its great SFU is back on TV esp. in HD. Started watching it on Bravo last spring and it vanished without any reason. Hope they finish the series and not leave us hanging like BRAVO did.

I was excited a few months ago when I saw they would be showing SFU. I watched the whole series on HBO and was looking forward to seeing it again in HD. Very disappointed that UHD shows edited for content episodes. You're a cable network. You can show the real things. Why bother showing them at all if your afraid to show them as they actually are?

Shame on UHD!

Hey there endcontra! While Uni is good enough to give us two-hour movies commercial free, the reality is that an entire series is a lot of air time to give up without commercial revenue. And a series as good as SFU will draw in a lot of viewers that are attractive to advertisers. Ads also help fill time where they have to cut material that was suitable for HBO's cable audience, but may not be so for broadcast audiences...

The good news is that Uni continues to make quality programming like this available, and even with ads, excellent programming like Six Feet Under and Firefly continue to bring in new fans for old shows that always deserved a wider viewership.
